I have a Toastmaster Toaster Model B720 year is 1979. It is in the box, has never been opened. Is this considered a colllectible? or should I just use it:)

I have a 4 slice Toastmaster toaster that was given to me as a wedding present in "1969" and it still works!! It's real metal too!! lol

I love this site and the history behind it, the only thing that would make this site better is a give-a-way for a free toaster. :) My favorite is the porcelin toaster with all the flowers very beautiful.

LOVE this site- so complete, concise, & well done!!!! I have only recently become an antique toaster junkie and have 7 so far...Such a big world & so many cool old toasters :) I already collect old Sunbeam mixmasters & have 4, inc my mom's (about 1950). Actually, I guess I collect a lot of old, cool stuff :)

I am a toaster nut, but have not resorted to collecting them as I used to collect lots of things and that always got me into trouble... Especially when it comes to automobiles! I have a Toastmaster toaster that I got for free when its original owners were attempting to sell it at a garage sale in 1979--and didn't end up selling it. They said I could have it. I promptly got it home to test it by plugging it in to see what happened. All kinds of smoke poured out of it! I then turned it on end and unscrewed the two screws to remove the coverplate, cleaned out all of the blackened (years and years of) crumbs and then tryed it out by making some toast. What do you know? It worked perfectly,and still does after my keeping it in daily use (except for 3 years while stationed in Germany in the US Army) since then--33 years! I never did find out when it was made... And that is what today I was most curious about. So far, your website is pretty cool!

OK, I just bought a Quality Brand Great Northern toaster #102 last patent date 1925 and it works great! I didn't find one of these in your collection but did find the Estate #77 which looks just like it. I'm hooked. These things are too cool.

I thought my crazy love for antique toasters was strange. It's just like you said, people see my collection and scratch their heads. There is no thrill like the rush you get from picking through an old antique store and finding a great old toaster in its original box. I go "Toaster Hunting" almost every weekend. Great site!!!

Hello, i have a ToastMaster 1B14, i bought SO cheap in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
But dont "pop up" the bread just heat.
im dessarm the toaster, and the "wheel" dark-light, inside "goes to nothing" (i think a piece is missing or something, equals the piece who free the mechanism.

Hallo Jens! Hut ab, deine Seite ist wunderschoen. Manchmal brauche ich etwas Seelenfrieden, da verbringe ich Stunden damit in Buchhandlungen Literatur ueber Design des vorigen Jahrhunderts zu waelzen. Ob Toaster, Staubsauger oder Radios, die Formgebung zieht mich an.
Da auch ich der Sammelleidenschaft verfallen bin (alles was alt und formschoen ist) bin ich auf deine Seite gestossen. Schoen das es soetwas gibt. Meinen erstern richtig alten Toaster (Universal) habe ich so wie du auf einem Flohmarkt in San Francisco erstanden. Am Flughafen wurde ich seltsam angeschaut, denn neben dem Toaster hatte ich noch ein altes Radio und einen Juice-O-Mat im Handgepaeck.
Noch viel Spass und weitere Toaster!

Diese Seite hat nicht nur ein klasse Thema, sondern auch ein Spitzen-Design! Die Inspiration, gekommen durch meinen 59er Rowenta 5214 begann mein Interesse... meine Frau nahm alles mit und liess mir den Toaster, sehr schön! Nun habe ich bald einen Saluta und noch einen, der so doof ist, das ich ihn haben muss, einen E 1507 "Tischheizer" ;-)

Nice website and great collection!
I dont't like most of the modern toasters, but I really love my Dualit vario. It doesn't just do it's job, it looks great and it's a pleasure to use it.
Happy to see you got some Jura toasters from Switzerland :)

What a wonderful collection you have. I found the toaster my mom gave me on your site. It is a Universal E 947- Black 1. I agree the mechanism is quite interesting. I have it complete with the power cord that still works.
